Tasting Notes

Classic characters of Clare Valley Riesling; minerals, lime and lemon with a hint of spring flowers. On the palate, limey citrus flavours show finesse and elegance with balanced crisp acidity with a lingering finish.

More info

A century ago, Annie Wayman’s horse and cart got bogged down along the boundary road of a Clare Valley vineyard as she delivered lunch to a team of vineyard hands. So it seemed only reasonable that Annie, long a stalwart of folklore, should be remembered for her inimitable services to the vineyard workers of our region. Only 120km north-east of Adelaide, the valley’s unique climate features hot summer days, blessed by cooling sea breezes late in the afternoon. This leads to grapes that ripen without losing their crisp freshness. Clare Valley’s simple charm lies in its friendly people, its gentle pace, and its time-worn buildings that tell secrets to those who listen. In winemaking terms, it’s not big and brash, but petite and perfect. Some of Australia’s deliciously delicate and floral Rieslings are produced here and the Shiraz grown in the Clare Valley is valued for its full-flavoured intensity and elegance.
