Tasting Notes

Pale gold colour with green tints; fine fragrant bouquet with notes of white flowers, apples and vanilla; dry, clean, elegant flavour with a pleasing, lingering aftertaste of fruits and spices.

More info

In the Italian region of Alto Monferrato, part of Piemonte, a grape called Cortese is grown. It is unique to that part of the world. Pressed and fermented, the juice becomes a wine called Gavi, from the name of the town around where the vineyards are. The vineyards allowed to produce wines under the name of Gavi cover an area of ca. 700 hectares which is very small compared to other wines. Indeed, most of the vineyards are within sight of the town of Gavi and its impressive fortress.
