This Chardonnay has an impressive bright yellow colour. It has a very fruity nose, where aromas of citrus fruits and white peaches mingle with mineral hints and soft toasty oak. To taste, it has complexity with fruit flavours and minerality. It’s a young wine, fresh and balanced, with a great acidity.
Produced by Cono Sur’s head winemaker Adolfo Hurtado, one of Chile’s top winemakers who is recognised industry wide for his aromatic white wines, Pinot Noir and for pioneering the production of enviromentally-friendly wine. In 1998 Cono Sur implemented a switch from traditional agriculture to integrated vineyard management, favouring the use of natural alternatives to fertilise and natural pest controls including the 1000 geese who patrol the vineyards eating the insects. In 2000 Cono Sur started growing organic grapes and now have over 300 hectares dedicated to organic farming. The company’s focus on reducing its impact on the environment is also reflected in the Carbon Neutral delivery status of this wine.
